DKP: Jan Dickey, Terra Keck & Nisha Pinjani

This interactive installation demonstrates the systemic pressure on those looking to get ahead in America to put their identity through a homogenizing filter. Passersby are encouraged to step up to a human-sized piece of plexiglass, on which is painted a ghostly likeness of the Old Man Leader who wears a dark suit, an American flag pin, and a tie.

Jan Dickey, Terra Keck, and Nisha Pinjani began collaborating in 2016 when they founded GRRIC Contemporary, a graduate student-run art space in Honolulu, Hawai'i, devoted to radical and irreverent experimentation. Terra and Jan now both live in Brooklyn, while Nisha Pinjani lives in Melbourne, Australia. Their work is absurdist, deviant and pesky.
