Jonothon Lyons (Buddy The Rat)

Buddy the Rat is the centerpiece of a performance art project called Commensal Mischief. Over the next ten years, Jonothon Lyons intends to travel the world performing as Buddy in public spaces wherever possible. He believes that people will respond in similar ways across regions regardless of language, creed, or cultural heritage. Seeing Buddy reminds people of the animal inside them and cuts past arbitrary cultural barriers that create the illusion of difference between us. Commensal Mischief shines light on the fact that all people are people, and the whole world can be embraced as one community, plain and simple.
