KS Brewer
This collaborative, multi-sensory installation uses pipes, speakers, and talking lights to speak to the ways in which systems of oppression demonize people for their own benefit and perpetuation. Lights flicker in time with the voices emanating from the convoluted pipe structures, relating speakers’ experiences in a multitude of voices. Installed under the looming infrastructure of the High Line, the lights emerging from these mechanical guts collectively flicker like fireflies - spots of light emerging from darkness, from ‘ the belly of the beast.
