Samanta Elena Pizarro Aliste & Adam Arhelger
This playful performance is inspired by Memories of Fire, by Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano. At the rhythm of two accordions singing various sounds of Latin America, the viewer enters micro-stories about iconic Latin American characters and communities. The selected historical events show continuities and reference lines to the present. Whether fire clearings and land eviction in Brazil, sexual identity and expression in Bolivia, inidigenous people’s land rights in Chile or cultural identities in Mexico -a look at history is always a look at the present and future. Look for a two-person theatre play with music.
