Ariel Kleinberg
This performance installation engages passersby in a ritualistic deconstruction of the American mythos. The artist cuts out and weaves together hundreds of allegorical figures on a flag, evoking the forces and norms that govern us: Truth, Deceit, Justice, Injustice, Hope, Despair, War, Peace, Solidarity, Division, Wisdom, Ignorance, etc., inviting the audience to question what it is Americans truly worship.
